At this stage we all know how ultra critical I am of my own progress, effort and results. But alas, this was a good week. I only managed one pool session which isn't good enough (there had to be one complaint), but I got out early on Saturday morning for a decent spin with Rob. The wind was really strong (14m/s - 50kmh) which made it pretty unenjoyable, the sun was out but it was low and cold. Anyway, we managed a 3hr spin out and around Kildare so some good saddle time which is greatly needed. The distance was not great but in that wind I didn't care, it was all about hours in the seat. We missed the Marlay Park run but its not about speed work any more its about miles. Having said that, I did then go out on Sunday and run a 43min 10km which I'm pretty happy with. All sub 5min kilometres with stiff legs after Saturday so really chuffed. Felt strong and fit. This week is now the last week before my official plan starts and you can see what some of that will entail in my calendar of events. I plan on getting some blogs out in the coming weeks that talk a little bit more about triathlon in general rather than just my training so bear with me. Chat soon guys. - Phil
These are my splits for what was supposed to be a relaxed Sunday run but felling good (which can be rare sometimes) got the better of me.
