Tonight I am going to attempt my first session back with a swim in Newpark. I'm hoping that come the end of this week, (Sunday March 29th) I have some mileage I can report on and that I haven't agitated this cold further. To add to my concerns, I am running the London Marathon in just over a month now and I have not spent long enough on the legs. Hey, if I could go sub 4 at Dublin in November with only 4/6 weeks training I can pull this off right?
Anyway, I am writing this in advance of the week ending so that at least I have published something. If it ends up being a disaster and I have nothing to report on, do have a look at my most recent article; 'Triathlon Race Gear' and if you know someone attempting their first race this season, share the link with them. Cheers - Phil
Ok so I managed to shake off the cold. I got a measly 5km run done on Friday night (27th). A brilliant 2.2km swim done in the NAC on Saturday via 2 x 15 min kilometers and a 45 minute 10km run done on the Sunday. Safe to say we are back on track and to be fair these three workouts weren't off bad times considering my near two week absenteeism. More to come - Phil
